Amy Susan Brown

With a career as a journalist, travel writer and business writer, Amy Susan Brown’s true passion has always been fiction writing. Amy’s middle-grade novel, Mormor’s Piano, won first place among middle-grade novels in the Royal Palm Literary Award 2016 from the Florida Writers Association (FWA). She is currently seeking a publisher for that novel while deep into writing a new YA novel about four girls from different countries who meet at a boarding school on the island of Malta, in the year that changes everything. Her short story, “Taking Flight” was one of the Top 10 selections in the annual FWA short story collection, “Hide and Seek,” published in paperback in October 2016 and available here:

Amy lived in Sweden for 18 years with her Swedish husband, photographer Bjorn Velander. With their two daughters, they escaped Swedish winters for four glorious years living in the Mediterranean on the island of Malta. Now she has found her paradise in Venice, Florida, where she is a member of the Florida Writers Association and part of a local writer’s group. Amy gets her best ideas from walking the beach or on a meditative kayak trip through the mangroves and Intracoastal Gulf waters behind her home. It would take an alligator to interrupt her reveries. Fortunately, that hasn’t happened…yet. You can find her here:
